Editorial take
Day[0] has ended, and its archive is still the best audio resource on exploit development. From 2019 to 2025 the dayzerosec researchers Specter (kernel and console exploitation) and zi (formerly a Security Innovation consultant) read the week's disclosed vulnerabilities and explained the root cause and the exploitation path, from Chrome and Linux kernel bugs to hypervisor escapes and bug bounty web flaws. For a while they split into separate [bounty] and [binary] episodes, which makes it easy to pick a lane. The show stopped regularly in May 2025 and a final episode, "The Future", aired in April 2026. Treat it as a back catalog: the specific bugs are dated, but the reasoning about mitigations, memory safety, and methodology holds up. Each episode page on dayzerosec.com links the write-ups discussed.

Listen if you …
- are learning exploit development or vulnerability research and want worked examples
- do bug bounty and want to understand the binary side as well as the web side
- like reading the original write-ups after hearing a researcher's explanation
Skip if you …
- you want current news, the show ended in 2026 and covers bugs disclosed through early 2025
- you have no programming or memory corruption background, the binary episodes assume both
