There is no Segment for Startups program anymore. The old segment.com/industry/startups page now redirects to Twilio's general startups page, and that page carries no credit amount, no eligibility criteria, and no application path. It offers a resource library and a contact form.
Twilio has also put the wider question beyond doubt. Its own startups page states that every customer gets a small credit when they open an account, and that it does not offer additional credits to startups at this time. That sentence covers Segment and SendGrid along with the rest of the Twilio platform.
The $50,000 over two years figure this page used to carry, and the $25,000 Team Plan figure that circulates elsewhere, both trace back to a program that was real before the Twilio consolidation. Neither can be verified against a Twilio-owned page today. Aggregator sites are still publishing both.

How can I tell whether a startup credit program is still live?
Open the provider's own startup or partner page and look for a working application form with stated eligibility and credit amounts. Aggregator sites routinely keep listings up for years after a program ends, so a deal roundup is not evidence that the program exists.
